Homeopathic Remedies are one of many natural remedies that can be used in the home for acute or chronic symptoms. Although it is important to have a Holistic Health Practitioner evaluate your symptoms, for non-emergency situations, the following may be helpful in choosing the right remedy.*
Here is a small list with suggested usage for the remedy . . .
Allium Cepa: This remedy will help the person with a beginning cold who looks as if they have been peeling onions. There is frequent sneezing and the eyes stream; a watery discharge irritates the nose. May have laryngitis, with a raw sensation extending into the chest.
Antimonium tartaricum: Will benefit the person who has bronchitis and a wheezing cough; mucus in the chest makes rattling bubbling sound as if the patient were drowning in his own secretions. Looks pale, has a cold sweat, and looks sick.
Arsenicum album: The most frequently needed remedy for stomach upsets, vomiting, or diarrhea, especially when caused by food poisoning.
Belladonna: Flushed, hot, and restless; symptoms are violent, with the onset sudden. May have sore throat or cough, headache, earache, or fever.
Chamomilla: When teething is irritable and cranky and just plain “impossible”. Helpful for anyone who is oversensitive to pain, particularly when suffering from a toothache.
Ferrum phosphoricum: Helps in the early stages of all inflammatory problems, including head colds, earache, cough, pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy, and rheumatism.
Ipecacuanha: Relieves constant nausea with or without vomiting. Helps to stop a bad nosebleed or bleeding from any part of the body.
Magnesium phosphorica: Eases any spasmodic pain that is relieved by warmth, such as leg cramp, menstrual cramps, or colic. Referred to as the “homeopathic aspirin”.
Mercurius: Often indicated for tonsillitis, abscessed ears, boils, and gum disease. Person is sweaty, feels weak and trembling, and is very sensitive to temperature changes.
Phosphorous: Symptoms may be laryngitis, a chest cold, hemorrhaging, has long-lasting effect; should not be repeated often.
Spongia tosta: Chief symptom is a croupy, wheezing cough, and therefore it is often prescribed for children during an attack of croup.
Veratrum album: When diarrhea and vomiting occur simultaneously. Accompanied by a cold sweat, and feels faint.
